Is affiliate marketing worth it in 2019?

Imagine yourself, relaxing on the beach and maybe spending some time on social media to spread your message… There will be still some work to manage your blog and add new affiliate products to your list.

But one day it will replace your 9-5 job and give you the possibility to work from anywhere at your conditions. How much would this be worth to you?

So here is your 7 step guide with all tools and tips you need to make a good start and build your passive income for your future.

How to start your new affiliate business?

1. Step – Choose your profitable niche

Before you start promoting affiliate products, find your sweet spot and choose a profitable niche. It should be something, that you like to talk and write about. Also the profits are important, if there are not enough potential customers, it’s not worth to waste your time. (Read more here)

You can choose a niche from 3 big segments – health, wealth or relationships. In this segment you will find a smaller niche, which you should concentrate on.

I work in the „wealth – segment“ and my niche is „affiliate marketing for funnelhackers“. (Funnelhackers are people, who use Click Funnels to build sales funnels)

2. Step – Find complementing affiliate programs

Once you found your perfect niche, do your research and find several affiliate programs, which complement each other. Think about your ideal customer – which problems will he try to solve and buy a solution?

In my example my ideal customer will need a website / blog – so I can recommend Bluehost and WordPress.

They will also need to collect emails before recommending affiliate products or selling their own products. The best way to do this, is to use Click Funnels Software to build Funnels and ConvertKit to collect email addresses.

3. Step – Start a blog with purpose

Why should you start a blog?

You can create Pins on Pinterest and put your affiliate link as a website. But this can change in future. It’s already forbidden to post affiliate links on Facebook, Pinterest may follow.

In a blog post you can do a review about your affiliate product and tell everybody, why this product is useful. Deliver an insider view and write about benefits, but be honest and recommend only products, that you use and love.

By writing an informative blog post you also deliver free value and build trust with your potential customer. Especially if you recommend high-ticket affiliate programs for 1000 $ – 2000 $, you will need „warm traffic“. That are people, who are interested in that kind of products and also trust you enough to buy through your link after your recommendation.

4. Step – Drive traffic with Pinterest

How to do affiliate marketing with Pinterest?

Did you start a blog and track your data with Google analytics? Wondering, why nobody is reading your blog posts? Well it takes a lot of time, until your articles will rank on Google and you should learn SEO for blogs.

If you tried to share your links on Facebook, you might have a few clicks here and there. But Facebook doesn’t like links that are bringing people away from Facebook. So almost nobody will see this link.

Pinterest is great for affiliate marketers for 2 reasons. First of all, if you are just starting out, you can create 10 different pins for the same affiliate link and pin it. At the moment this strategy is allowed.

Second reason is that once a pin is created, it can be re-pinned by other people. If your pin has a great design and also leads to a useful blog post, it may go viral and bring thousands visitors to your website.

I have some pins that are over 2 years old and they still bring traffic to my websites. Some of my new pins had already 1000 views after 2 days and also clicks to my blog post.

5. Step – Increase traffic with Tailwind

Pinterest will become even more powerful, if you use it together with Tailwind. This will help you to schedule your pins, so they will be pinned automatically and save you a lot of time.

The best thing I love about Tailwind are the Tribes. That are groups of people in the same niche, where you can suggest your pin and re-pin other pins. Often my pins get re-pins in only minutes and this is ​also a signal to Pinterest to rank your pin higher in searches.

6. Step – Use Click Funnels to collect leads and sell your own digital products

Can affiliate marketing be done without a website?

A blog is a great place to inform your customers and bring free value and some of them will buy right away through your link. But often people will leave your blog and never visit again, if you don’t catch their information.
